Based in St Helens, they are committed to delivering high-performance, life-saving products to customers worldwide. With sustainability becoming an increasing priority, Pyroguard sought to reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint while
reinforcing their commitment to responsible manufacturing. Investing in Solar PV was the next logical step in their journey toward a more efficient and environmentally friendly operation.

The Solution

Pyroguard have now installed 2 phases of Solar PV across 2 of their sites in St Helens.
This is a combined System Size of an impressive 997kW of Solar PV. Over their 2 installations, Pyroguard can expect to see over 900,000kWh of clean energy generated annually.

The Results & Feedback

With a combined payback of just 2 to 3 years, Pyroguard will see long term cost savings over the 25+ year lifespan of the system. The system will save over 185 tonnes of CO2e per year, showcasing Pyroguard’s commitment to sustainability. With their installations, Pyroguard have a reliable and sustainable energy source to support their business operation. Chris Pickles, Pyroguard’s Head of Engineering, said “Perfect Sense Energy were able to support Pyroguard in specifying a suitable PV Solar system for our facility, explaining how the system works, the economic & environmental benefits, costs for install, timescales, safe installation method and the required regulatory process to follow. We have now successfully completed two PV solar system installations with Perfect Sense Energy as a partner. Both projects are delivering the benefits outlined at the start and the detailed project ownership by the PSE team simplified the installation process in a safe, timely manner with good communication.”
