What Are LED Lights For
Businesses?
Commercial LED Lighting is cheaper, safer, and a more efficient alternative to traditional forms of lighting such as fluorescent, metal halide, or SON fittings. It’s quickly becoming the first choice for lighting commercial and public areas due to the lower energy consumption and carbon footprint it offers.
Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) provide light by emitting electrons when a current is passed through them. Unlike incandescent bulbs, very little heat is generated as a result.
The Benefits of LED Lighting
for Businesses
Reduced Energy Consumption, Lower Bills

Commercial LED Lighting offers massive reductions in your lighting energy consumption (anywhere between 50% and 90% less).
Better For Your Health And Productivity

LED lighting for businesses reduces flicker and glare, having been demonstrated by several independent studies to reduce fatigue and eyestrain in working environments. LEDs are also linked with improved performance and productivity.
Combines With Smart Lighting Solutions For Even Greater Savings

ommercial LED Lighting installations enable further efficiencies like smart lighting and centralised control systems to be used.
Zero Maintenance Required

Each LED light installation has an average operational lifetime of up to 100,000 hours – removing the need for frequent lamp changes, wasted time and H&S issues.
Lower Carbon Emissions

The energy efficiencies offered by Commercial LED lighting result in far less carbon dioxide being released through power consumption.

What Does the LED Lighting Installation
Process Look Like?

We visit your site to determine the best lighting for your current operation. Buildings are bought and rented to different businesses, so we look to make sure the lighting we specify is fit for purpose.

At the site visit, we look at the current fittings, the existing cabling, the operation in that environment, opportunities for lighting controls, and what the client really wants to achieve with new commercial LED lighting. This is very important as they are likely to have their investment for the next 20 years, if not longer.

We will produce a design, this may involve identifying different lighting for different areas of operation. This includes sensors or other controls such as daylight dimming and emergency lighting so the client is compliant from an H&S perspective. You will also be able to see the all-important return on investment.

Once agreed, we would coordinate an appropriate time to install, making sure there are minimal disruptions. We will organise all the access gear and a full set of RAMS that identify and confirm that the people on site comply with the site regulations. We will also make sure they’re qualified for operating any equipment whilst on site.

Commercial LED Lighting FAQ
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW TO MAKE THAT FINAL DECISION.
What are the disadvantages of Commercial LED Lighting?
In the early days, LED Lighting gave off a white or bluish tinge, which people would describe as sterile or ‘cold’. As the technology has improved, warmer colours and gentler lighting has become the norm, and LED light installation is now far more aesthetically versatile.
Do LED lights get weaker over time?
Over an LED’s lifetime, the LED light installation will become ever so slightly dimmer. The difference is very minute and unnoticeable to the human eye. This is called ‘lumen degradation’ or ‘LED degradation.’ However, it’s nothing to worry about when installing LED lights for your business’s site.
Does it shorten the life of an LED light to turn it on and off?
Unlike fluorescent lamps or incandescent bulbs, the operational life of an LED light installation is unaffected by turning it on and off multiple times.
