The Background

Ellard is a leading manufacturer of roller shutters and garage doors, operating a large manufacturing facility with significant energy consumption. They were keen to reduce their carbon footprint, energy costs and demonstrate their commitment to sustainability. Perfect Sense Energy was approached by The Green Economy after using their online marketplace of green tech suppliers to design and install a suitable solar PV system for Ellard’s site in Wythenshawe.

The Solution

After a thorough site survey and analysis of Ellard’s energy needs, Perfect Sense Energy designed and recommended a bespoke 136.12 kWp solar PV system based on their current electricity consumption, consisting of 332 high-quality solar panels covering a total area of 564 m2.

The Results & Feedback

The system is set to produce over 139,000 kWh of clean energy in the first year, resulting in projected savings of over £32,400. The system was also estimated to have a payback period of 4-5 years, making it a financially viable investment for the company. This solar system helps Ellard to reduce their reliance on grid power and protects against future cost rises.
