The Background

At Perfect Sense Energy, we believe that access to sustainable energy shouldn’t be limited by budget, especially when it comes to organisations making a difference in their communities. That’s why we were proud to partner with Higher Folds Community Centre in Leigh, a local charity dedicated to supporting families, providing essential services, and creating opportunities for residents in the area.

With support from the Energy Resilience Fund & The Social Investment Business, Higher Folds Community Centre was able to part-fund an energy-saving, generation, and storage project that will help reduce their running costs and future-proof their building against volatile and rising energy prices. Working closely with the Centre, our team designed and delivered a low-cost, energy-efficient multi-technology solution that maximised the available funding while delivering long-term savings.

The Solution

To help the Higher Folds Community Centre achieve meaningful and measurable savings, Perfect Sense Energy designed and installed a combination of solar PV generation, battery storage, and energy-efficient LED lighting upgrades:

• 32.85 kWp Solar PV System
• 20 kWh DC-Coupled Battery Storage System
• LED Panel Lighting Upgrade

The Results & Feedback

By combining renewable Solar PV generation, energy storage, and energy-efficient LED lighting. The Higher Folds Community Centre now benefits from lower bills, reduced carbon emissions, and greater energy independence.

Most importantly, these savings allow the charity to reinvest more of its resources into the vital community services it provides: supporting local families and creating a lasting positive impact in the Leigh area.
