The Background

Eden Farm, a leading national wholesaler and distributor specialising in frozen food, ice cream, and chilled wholesale, is committed to delivering exceptional service while maintaining competitive pricing on top brands. With a strong focus on operational efficiency and sustainability, the company sought a solution to reduce its energy consumption and support its green energy goals.

The Solution

Perfect Sense Energy were approached to design a suitable system for Eden Farm’s Luton site. With a large roof area and high energy consumption, they were keen to maximise their PV potential. Perfect Sense Energy analysed their consumption data and designed a 729kW system using over 1770 Tier 1 solar panels. This system is set to cover around a quarter of

the site’s energy consumption per year, which will save 149 tonnes of CO2e per year. 

The Results & Feedback

In its first year alone, the system is projected to generate over 713,000 kWh of clean energy, delivering estimated savings of over £141,000. With an approximate 29% return on investment, the system is expected to pay for itself within approximately four years, providing long-term energy cost reductions while significantly cutting carbon emissions.
