The Background

The Comfy Group, a proud family-run business with roots dating back to 1973, has grown from modest beginnings into one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of duvets and pillows. Based in Manchester, their factory produces products that bring comfort to million. With a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation, they partnered with us to install a solar energy solution that supports their operations while reducing their environmental footprint. Here’s how we helped power their mission to deliver comfort, sustainably.

The Solution

To meet The Comfy Group’s sustainability goals and support their high-energy manufacturing operations, we designed and installed a bespoke Solar PV system across their site. This included a first install of 711.35 kW, capable of generating approximately 680,000 kWh per year, and a secondary system of 206.64 kW, capable of generating 199,500 kWh per year. These systems were carefully integrated with their existing infrastructure to maximize efficiency and reduce reliance on grid-supplied electricity.

The Results & Feedback

The installation now generates a total of nearly 880,000 kWh annually, significantly offsetting the site’s energy usage and contributing to substantial cost savings. This sustainable energy source not only reduces their carbon footprint by over 200 tonnes of CO₂ per year but also strengthens their commitment to environmentally responsible manufacturing. The solar solution supports The Comfy Group’s long-term vision of greener operations without compromising their ability to deliver quality products at scale
