The Background

Established in 1981, C-TEC has built a reputation as one of the UK’s leading independent manufacturers of life safety electronic equipment. With an extensive portfolio that includes fire alarm systems, power supplies, and hearing loop systems, C-TEC has long been committed to protecting people and property. The Solution

Following an extremely competitive tender process via an introduction from Green Economy, C-TEC partnered with Perfect Sense Energy to take the next step in their sustainability journey and – in line with their forward-thinking ethos and commitment to operational excellence – foresaw the investment and installation of a bespoke Solar PV system. This project not only aligned with their environmental goals but also provided a long-term solution to energy efficiency and cost savings across their facilities.

To help C-TEC reduce its carbon footprint and enhance their energy efficiency, we designed and installed a 127.7kWp Solar PV system tailored to the unique demands of their facility.

The Results & Feedback

This high-performance system is expected to generate 102,000 kWh in its first year — delivering estimated savings of over £33,000 and achieving an impressive first-year return on investment of over 42%. Beyond the financial benefits, the system greatly contributes to C-TEC’s environmental goals by cutting an estimated 21.26 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. The installation is forecast to pay for itself in just 3 years and meets 17% of the site’s baseload demand, marking a significant step forward in C-TEC’s journey toward sustainability and energy independence.
