The Background

AT Engine Controls are an engineering business based in Worsley. They were looking to upgrade their lighting to LED to see improvements in light levels and energy costs. They previously had fluorescent tube lights installed, which were expensive to run, produced poor levels of light output and required frequent time-consuming maintenance.

The Solution

Perfect Sense Energy created a bespoke lighting design to suit the clients lighting requirements, using modern LED panels and linear LED battens. These lights offer significant improvements in light levels and offer a 61% lighting energy saving compared to the previously installed fluorescent lights. The client also received a Carbon Trust grant of over £7,500, reducing the payback period and presenting a lucrative business case.

The Results & Feedback

The new LED Lighting offers an energy saving of £5,318 in the first year, seeing an overall 10-year project saving of just under £72,000. The project has a payback period of fewer than 3 years and provides the client with vibrant bright lights with an expected lifespan of 50,000+ hours. This eliminates the need for costly and time-consuming maintenance, and all lights are supplied with a 5-year warranty.
