The Background

Imex Automotive Part Solutions are the UK’s leading independent vehicle parts distributor. Their warehouse on Trafford Park previously had fluorescent tube lights that used a large amount of energy and required frequent maintenance, which can be costly and time consuming with high level warehouse lighting requiring access equipment.

The Solution

Perfect Sense Energy designed a bespoke commercial LED lighting system using state-of-the-art LED luminaires. The new lighting was also installed with a highly customisable controls system, allowing us to customise factors such as movement sensor time-outs, light output percentages and daylight harvesting. The lights can be controlled precisely, allowing us to alter the output by factors of 1%, meaning we can provide a bespoke system that offers optimal light levels whilst saving the most energy.

The Results & Feedback

The new lighting offers a huge year 1 energy saving of 82%, achieved by reducing the number of lights, using low wattage LED replacements and by harnessing the bespoke controls system to ensure the LED lights run at optimal settings. The project payback is just 1.8 years and the lights will continue to offer low energy costs for years to come. The LED lighting supplied has a 10 year warranty and is expected to have an average lifetime of at least 50,000+ hours, with the need for maintenance eliminated.
