How Does Green Multi Tech Work Within A Business?

Organisations are starting to implement multi tech into their business to become more sustainable.

What is Multi Tech?

A multi tech installation ensures a business is making the most of its energy efficiency.

Coupling energy-saving projects such as LED lighting and Far Infrared Heating with generation technology such as Solar PV ensures a business can see the best return on investment and a shorter combined payback period.

These multi tech work together to ensure a business is operating at maximum efficiency and reducing its carbon footprint as much as possible.

Lighting and heating should be as energy-efficient as possible to ensure you use as little of the generated power as possible, meaning the generated energy can be used to power other things in the business. LED Lighting is the most energy-efficient lighting available and Far Infrared proves a much more efficient heating alternative. When coupled with Solar PV, it is an installation with a great ROI, a dedicated income stream for the business, and free energy.

An installation of this type is hugely beneficial to a business, as generating your own energy means you don’t need to pay high energy prices to use electricity from the grid. The business also receives an income for having a solar panel installation. The LED Lighting is extremely energy efficient and provides a well-lit, highly visible work area. Better lighting is proven to improve productivity in the workplace and will boost employee morale. Far Infrared provides radiant heating which reduces heat loss and runs more efficiently than traditional fan heaters and gas blowers.

Managing Director of Crystal Doors, Richard Hagan, spoke on BBC Breakfast live from his factory on the 12th of November as part of a feature on COP26.

Multi Tech at Crystal Doors

Solar PV

Solar PV systems can generate a significant amount of energy for your site, helping to power production machinery, LED lighting, Far infrared heating, and EV charge points.

LED Lighting

Lighting projects can dramatically cut operating costs and improve the working environment.

EV Charging

The installation of EV charging facilities at your workplace will future-proof your business.

Multi Tech Solar PV

Perfect Sense Energy installed a 246 kWp solar panel System onto Crystal Doors roof over two phases.

We originally designed and installed a 105 kW solar panel system onto the roof of Crystal Doors. In Phase 2, Crystal Doors wanted an additional 141 Kw of Solar PV installed.

Overall Multi Tech Generation and Savings:

  • Estimated 205,935 Kwh saved per annum
  • £22,400 income and savings per annum
  • 63T of CO2 saves per annum

This green tech system helps Crystal Doors reduce their reliance on grid power and protects against rising energy costs.

Multi Tech LED Lighting

Perfect Sense Energy created a bespoke lighting design using high bays, low bays, and auto daylight dimming technology.

LED Lighting Financial Savings

  • £7,138 energy and maintenance savings per annum
  • Project payback period of 1.3 years
  • 21T of CO2 saved per annum

This LED Lighting upgrade will eliminate the need for lighting maintenance, with an expected lifetime of 50,000+ hours.

This new green tech system has given a huge improvement in light levels, providing employees with better viability to easily see products and equipment. This also helps improve health and safety standards.

Multi Tech EV Charging

Perfect Sense Energy created a bespoke lighting design using high bays, low bays, and auto daylight dimming technology.

LED Lighting Financial Savings

To effectively charge the electric vehicles in Crystal Doors fleet, we were commissioned to install EV Chargers at the Crystal Doors site.

These efficient green tech chargers link into their existing solar panel system to make sure the cars are charged as efficiently as possible with a low environmental impact.

The intelligent EV Charging system provides renewable power for Crystal Doors’ fleet, reducing their carbon footprint, saving money on electricity/fuel bills, and helping them to achieve their sustainability targets.

Multi Tech Carbon Savings

If you were to combine the Solar PV and LED Lighting C02 savings, they will be saving 84 Tonnes of C02 per annum!

1 Tonne of C02 = The emissions produced while driving 6,000km in a diesel car.

The amount of C02 saved by Crystal Doors per annum is equivalent to driving a diesel car over 500,000km!
