The Sun is Setting on Solar Feed in Tariffs
2018 is moving exceptionally quick so far, and that means the end of the Solar feed in tariff scheme is getting closer. As of March 2019, the government will be removing the Solar PV incentive they launched in 2011 but there’s still time yet.
Any Solar PV projects that are installed and registered BEFORE the end of March 2019 will be able to claim the feed in tariff and have it locked in for 20 YEARS. This means your Solar PV system will generate a 20-year income stream alongside protecting you from rising grid prices and also providing significant energy reduction.
The feed in tariff has been a great income provider and has helped shape the solar industry as it is today, whilst bringing it to the forefront of a lot of people’s attention. Before the feed in tariff is removed we urge everyone considering a Solar PV system to get it installed as soon as possible and secure your feed in tariff for decades to come.
This change isn’t to say that Solar PV won’t be a worthwhile investment once the feed in tariff is gone, as equipment costs are likely to continue the trend that it has followed since the feed in tariff first began reducing and will likely continue once it is gone. Sharply rising Electricity prices also mean that providing some free power into the building will always be great way to buy less power
