North West Energy Potential

Did you know the North West has the biggest energy investment potential?

In the recent ‘Energy Resilience in UK Manufacturing’ Report from Barclays, it was found that North West manufacturers could benefit more than any other area by investing in energy saving technologies. The study shows that the economy could see an £2.5 billion boost over the next ten years by investing into energy saving. The North West alone could see a £1.06 billion boost.

With growing concerns of rising energy costs and worries of decreasing available grid capacity, businesses are becoming more energy-conscious and employing technologies to reduce their energy usage and spend, as well as investing in renewable sources such as Solar PV. From a study of over 500 manufacturers, only 35% are using or currently looking to implement methods to increase energy efficiency over the next year.

With so much potential to boost the economy, growing fears of rising energy costs, reduced grid capacity and decreasing prices of energy efficient technologies, North West manufacturers should be looking to implement energy efficiency measures as soon as possible.
